Are you a passionate clinical practice operator interested in transforming the primary care delivery model? MaineHealth is looking for a Director of Practice Operations for Apollo, a newly formed subsidiary of the health system focused on primary care innovation and disruption.
 
Apollo’s goal is to create and test new models of care in an environment allowing for rapid decision-making and execution. A key component of the Director of Practice Operations role will be a deep understanding of the needs and challenges facing most primary care practices, and the ability to quickly assess the landscape and coordinate the appropriate internal and external resources to develop and manage Apollo’s approach to practice operations.
 
The Director of Practice Operations will have a strong, highly aligned, and collaborative partnership with other senior leaders of Apollo and will help to develop a clinical practice team and establish a best-in-class approach to primary care practice operations. This person will be accountable for leading clinical strategy planning, ensuring timely and appropriate access to care, fostering program development, and executing quality, value, and patient engagement initiatives. 
 
Key Responsibilities and Desired Outcomes
  • Responsible for establishing and managing all operational aspects of practice sites to ensure quality patient care
  • Accountable for practice culture, engagement, recruiting, and retention of providers and staff.
  • Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary leadership team to ensure practices are functioning optimally and are in compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Partners with Medical and Administrative leadership on strategic planning and business development
 
Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration or related field; Graduate Degree strongly preferred.
  • 10 plus years of progressively advanced financial and administrative management in outpatient practice.
  • Entrepreneurial background/start-up experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively develop and implement new programs or services.
  • Must be an effective leader, team builder, mentor, and coach.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage staff and lead through change.
  • Proven ability to establish practice work plans, goals and manage to those objectives.
  • Demonstrates broad understanding of financial aspects of practice management.
  • Analytic thinking ability to access, analyze, and meaningfully utilize available information. Proficient computer skills.
