Position Summary
30 hour salaried position, salary prorated to $43000 - $64000 / year
The Knowledge Services Specialist maintains, supports, and enhances a wide range of technologies and systems to provide innovative library services and ensure access to the library's extensive range of online information resources and digital collections.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responds to calls for help, troubleshoots and solves hardware and software problems across multiple campuses, monitors overall system performance, implements improvements, and works with the Director to develop long-range technology plans.
- Communicates with and manages relationships with vendors, compiles usage statistics.
- Provides customer service to colleagues throughout the MaineHealth system in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Pay range is commensurate with professional medical librarian position; MLIS is desirable, but not required.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Bachelor's degree or minimum of five years' equivalent work experience in related field.

License/Certifications: N/A

Experience: See "Education." Knowledge of medical libraries, customer service principles and biomedical information resources, typically acquired during two or more years of related experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, integrated library systems, specialized library software and database management.

Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other departments, institutions, and staff of all levels.

Demonstrated analytic and problem solving skills, and demonstrated ability to perform with a high level of independence.
