The MaineHealth Clinical Career Awareness Pre-Apprenticeship helps participants explore specific clinical healthcare careers and pathways at MaineHealth. Through a series of self-paced, online and virtual course modules, participants are introduced to concepts they will encounter in clinical training and the healthcare workplace such as patient care, medical terminology, workplace communication, public health, study skills, and more.
The flexible format allows participants to complete the coursework on a schedule that is convenient for them. Pre-apprentice completers who meet the desired qualifications, will have the opportunity to interview for the CNA Apprentice, MA Apprentice, or Phlebotomy School Student roles at MaineHealth.
This free program is designed for anyone who wishes to further explore a career in healthcare and seeks a guided pathway to potential employment with MaineHealth.
Good to Know

- Roughly 40 hours of online course work
- No prior experience or higher education required
- Learn more about MaineHealth careers and training programs for Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist, and Medical Assistant
- Program requires computer and internet access
- Must be 17 years of age or older
