We are currently recruiting a highly motivated PhD-level scientist to elucidate the role of neuregulin-1/ErbB and BMP-9 signaling in the regulation of cardiac progenitor cells in cardiac repair after myocardial ischemic injury. Neuregulins (NRGs) belongs to the epidermal growth factor (EGF) superfamily of transmembrane growth factors. BMP-9 belongs to the Transforming Growth Factor-beta superfamily.  These factors play an essential role in cardiac development and in the regulation of the adult cardiovascular system adaptation to physiological and pathological stress.  We are looking for a qualified individual capable of combining skills in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Molecular Pharmacology and Biochemistry with the ability to work as a team and lead scientific projects in the field.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related area, focusing on molecular studies of signaling pathways relevant in human pathology.
  • In addition, expertise in flow cytometry, isolation of primary cardiac cells, cloning and plasmid production techniques, general molecular biology techniques are desired. Knowledge of the English language is required.
  • The candidate should have a record of publications in peer review journals
