Summary

Director of Laboratory Operations - NorDx

Exciting new opportunity at one of New England’s largest healthcare organizations and Maine’s largest employer. The NorDx Director of Laboratory Operations works collaboratively with the Clinical Laboratory Directors to oversee the technical, administrative, financial and quality functions for Maine Medical Center’s Bramhall and Brighton campuses.

The successful candidate will be an experienced clinical operations leader with the ability to align laboratory resources toward strategic goals, and a management style that emphasizes collaboration and communication. 

Management experience at a large, academic medical center is preferred.

Position Summary

Responsible for the leadership and effective management of all operational aspects of the analytical, pre-analytical laboratory operations and human resources management for their division. Oversees Regional Lab Managers and reviews escalated hiring and discipline recommendations as needed. Creates and participates in the strategic planning process, and aligns leaders and staff regarding strategies for attainment of organizational goals. Accountable for meeting all regulatory requirements within their division. Approves division budget requests and proposals.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    1. Education: Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
    2. License/Certifications: Certification in one or more of the following: MT, MLS, CLS, CHT, CHS, CG, CT, HT, HTL, ASCP Scientist/Specialist (BB, C, H, M, MB, SBB, SC, SH, SM) required (ASCP, AMT, HEW, ABHI).
    3. Experience: 6 years of managerial experience required, 8 years of experience preferred.
    4. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint required
