Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing assures that nursing services on the Long-term care unit, Memory Care unit and Skilled unit meets quality standards of care set by the Nurse Practice Act and complies with all state and federal regulations and facility policies and procedures. Advocate for resident choice and individual focused care by being a role model. Act as a champion for a customer service model based on excellence in care and quality of life/experience.
 
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: N/A.
  • License/Certification: Valid Maine Nursing license.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a long-term care setting with supervisory responsibilities and a thorough understanding of State of Maine regulations highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of culture change movement, resident centered care and quality improvement process.
  • Federal and State Regulations for Nursing Facilities.
  • Understands OSHA regulations for Nursing Facilities.
  • Fire, safety and disaster procedures.
  • Knows Resident Rights and Abuse/Neglect/Exploitation regulations.
  • Excellent communication, clinical assessment, and mentoring skills.
