Maine Behavioral Healthcare is pleased to offer Crisis Response Services where they are needed most for individuals in need of immediate behavioral health attention. Through partnerships with local hospitals and access to a full continuum of service offerings we are able to serve as a critical first contact during a mental health crisis.

Specifically, our Rockland location provides an array of services at our outpatient practices for adults, adolescents and children challenged with mental health, developmental disorders, co-occurring and/or substance use issues. Including, Psychiatry & Medication Management, Child Psychiatry, IMAT Program, IOP, Outpatient Counseling, therapy groups, Peer Support and Case Management services. 

The Crisis Response Worker functions in crisis capacities to connect clients with the appropriate level of care. This individual will provide immediate triage and access to crisis assessment will be offered. The Crisis Response Worker will assist and make connections to the appropriate outpatient services when clinical and financial eligibility requirements are met.

The behavior of a person having a mental health crisis may change suddenly and without warning. Mental health crisis service providers can quickly and compassionately help people facing a behavioral health situation that they cannot manage on their own. The safety of the person in crisis and the people around them is our priority.

Our compassionate Crisis Response Workers are available  throughout the MaineHealth system to provide crisis assessments upon admission. Crisis Response Workers are specially trained in crisis intervention and make every effort to help resolve any crisis situation in a timely manner.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field is preferred
  2. 1+ years of experience working with specific client population to which this position is primarily assigned
  3. MHRT/CSP certification or provisional certification is required
  4. Valid Driver’s License
  5. Prior experience with the chronic mentally ill population is highly desirable
