Maine Medical Center (MMC) is seeking a BC/BE Adult and Geriatric Psychiatrist to join the Department of Psychiatry. Successful candidates will be gifted clinician-educators committed to improving the lives of older adults. The position supports the integrated team-based care of our geriatric medicine clinic, which adjoins the geriatric psychiatry clinic on the MMC main campus in Portland.

The Geriatric Psychiatry Division offers evaluation and treatment for older adults with mood, anxiety, behavior, psychotic, substance use, and dementia-related psychiatric illness. Our clinical staff includes geriatric psychiatrists and geriatric psychiatry nurse practitioners, clinical social workers and psychologists. The Geriatric Psychiatry Division partners with Maine Medical Center’s geriatric and neuropsychiatric medical-psychiatric inpatient program, one of few in the country. Our care continuum also includes Spring Harbor Hospital and Maine Behavioral Healthcare, a region wide comprehensive mental health provider. Maine Medical Center has 637 beds and is the state's leading tertiary care hospital and only Level 1 Trauma Center.  The Emergency Department at Maine Medical Center is comprises 63 beds, including an embedded 6 bed secure Acute Psychiatry Unit.

In addition to clinical care, we provide a major teaching resource for Maine Medical Center. We train and mentor Geriatric Medicine and Addiction Medicine fellows, Psychiatry residents, Tufts University School of Medicine medical students, Social Work and Psychology interns, and trainees in other fields.
