  • Position Summary
    • The Interventional Technologist will assist in routine diagnostic and highly complex invasive neuro and peripheral interventions. The technologist is also required to be competent in a wide variety of procedures referred by oncology, trauma, urology, gastroenterology and nephrology. The IR technologist must follow established protocols and guidelines for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.

    • The IR technologist must maintain a smooth operational flow to ensure maximum patient volumes with consideration of patient safety. The IR technologist must provide 24 hour on call response on a rotating basis and report to the hospital within 30 minutes of the emergency call. 

      Angiographic Techs at Maine Medical Center work with state of the art technology in our Body/Neuro lab to promote excellent patient care and have the opportunity enhance their career through our culture of continuous learning. Exposure to complex cases and the newest and most innovative procedures happen here!

      Those with current VI registration are encouraged to apply.

      Schedule- Rotating 4, 9 hour days a week with a set call day and a set day off.

  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: N/A
    • License/Certifications: Full certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Current State of Maine license in Radiologic Technology required.  Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology issued by the ARRT preferred. ACLS and BLS preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum one year's acute care experience as an imaging technologist.
    • Ability to recognize and respond to patient emergency situations and allergic reactions to contrast.
    • Analytical ability to determine best method of providing requested imaging based on patients physical condition.
