Summary

This position will be a part of the Maine Medical Center Research Institutes Clinical Trials Team working within the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.  The Maine Children’s Cancer Program has a team of three Research Coordinators who oversee all facets of pediatric oncology research studies. This entails patient eligibility verification, assessment of toxicities, data management, and ensuring that all required tests and assessments are completed at the required time points. The Research Coordinators guide staff in protocol interpretation and compliance, and prepare regulatory documents for IRB submission. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and also collaboratively by partnering with fellow coordinators, investigators, clinical staff, and relevant MMC departments.  This is a part time - 30 hour per week, benefit eligible position.

Position Summary

This is a clinical and technical position responsible for coordinating clinical research.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1.     Bachelor's degree in a health science or related field required.

2.     Knowledge of basic statistical principles and methods.

3.     Ability to function independently and as part of a team.

4.     Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

5.     2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting required.

6.     Demonstrable computer competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

7.     Certification by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals or Society of Clinical Research Associates preferred.
