For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 sign on for New Grad Registered Nurses with 0-3 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 3 years of experience!
Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position.
Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible;
former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
This is a part-time, 20 hour per week position. The centering classes meet in the evening.
The Centering Coordinator and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) Practice Nurse (RN) will function as a team member of MCMG Women’s Health and facilitate the goals of the practice with additional key Centering Program leadership responsibilities. Utilizes the nursing process for independent assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in support of the CNM patients. The role’s clinical nursing duties includes patient education, customer satisfaction and outreach. Works closely with the CNMs in the co-facilitation of all Centering groups. Communicates directly with patients interested in participating in Centering. Completion of all Centering program management tasks related to its daily operations, maintaining certification and required committee involvement. This position requires effective interpersonal communication and problem solving skills.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

- Education: N/A.
- License/Certifications: Current State of Maine RN license. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Centering Facilitator certification or obtained within the first six (6) months of hire.
- Experience: Women’s Health/Obstetrics inpatient or outpatient experience highly preferred. Previous experience facilitating group care preferred. Previous experience with Centering is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (listening, speaking, and writing) are required.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a shared office.
- Resourceful and able to creatively problem-solve.
