For a limited time MaineHealth is offering a $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with up to 2 years of RN experience and $20,000 for Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of RN work experience!

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Pediatric Specialty Care Endocrinology is looking for a knowledgeable, caring and motivated RN to join a dynamic and growing clinic that provides endocrinology care to pediatric patients from Maine and New Hampshire. 

Previous experience in pediatric populations and endocrinology is preferred. Willing to provide education and training to the right candidate without pediatric or endocrine experience. This is a full time, 32-hour position. The schedule consists of (4) 8-hour shifts Tuesday through Friday. No weekends, holidays or call is associated with this position. Specific scheduled days to be discussed with hiring manager. 

  We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Endocrinology Nurse to provide expert care to children with endocrine disorders such as hormone disorders, thyroid disorders, and growth problems.

This role will involve providing patient education, triaging patient calls, administering prescribed medication, and collaborating with doctors to develop treatment plans.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric nursing and a deep understanding of endocrinology.

A compassionate, patient-focused approach is essential for this role.

Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for pediatric endocrine patients.

Administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.

Observing patient, recording significant conditions and reactions, and notifying supervisor or physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.

Providing education and support to patients and their families regarding endocrine disorders.

Preparing equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients.

Revising plan of care as necessary, and documenting patient care in medical records.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to provide high quality patient care.

Triaging patient calls through initial assessments, evaluating urgency of patient needs, asking follow-up or clarify questions, checking symptoms and vital signs and coordinating care with other medical professionals and physicians to determine appropriate level of service and treatment recommendations. 

Summary:
The Registered Nurse role uses professional nursing processes to assess the needs of patients and families calling or presenting for care in the physician office and performs a wide variety of patient care services to assist physicians/advanced practice practitioners in delivering excellent care to patients of the practice.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: One year of RN experience required. Two years of relevant experience preferred. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse I - Ambulatory Care role.
