This position in the Office of Legal Affairs provides administrative and clerical support to department attorneys primarily with respect to subpoena and deposition processing management. Duties include assisting in processing responses to certain legal requests for records and interacting with providers and other witnesses, attorneys, government representatives, and caseworkers to facilitate scheduling of testimony, preservation of potential evidence, and search warrant processing. Position involves access to confidential and sensitive information and requires the exercise of discretion and good judgment. This role may also provide administrative support to attorneys including calendar management, document organization and filing, correspondence management and communication with clients.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or successful completion of an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent program required.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: See “Education” Multiple years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm or equivalent setting required. Experience in managing corporate record books and corporate filings, assembling and editing contracts or supporting employment or other litigation preferred based on assigned attorneys and business need.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Excellent verbal and written communication skills including editing and proofreading skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
