Spring Harbor Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 2 West Adult Psychiatric Unit. This unit is a 24-bed general adult psychiatric unit that services patients who experience acute psychiatric illnesses and any co-occurring disorders. Treatment emphasizes return-to-work strategies and cognitive therapies to help patients transition smoothly from the hospital to the community and in the shortest possible time. Most patients transition from an inpatient hospital such as Maine Medical Center or Southern Maine Healthcare as well as from different facilities across the state of Maine. This nurse will provide care, assessments and interventions in an individual and milieu setting.
Our dynamic learning environment encourages leadership, shared governance, and opportunity to grow. We provide a robust career ladder and the ability to explore the clinical side of mental health as part of our collaborative and multidisciplinary team. In most cases the units staffing patterns include 4 registered nurses and 4 psych technicians during the day and evening shifts and 2 registered nurses and 2 psych technicians on the overnight shifts.
Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Acute Care role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.
