Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker - Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor - Conditional license (LCPC-C) is required

We are looking for a Clinician to join our team. This individual will be working in our psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) licensed under Mid Coast Hospital and managed by MaineHealth Behavioral Health. The role involves providing assessments, group therapy and psycho-education, and some individual interventions to individuals who may be at risk of psychiatric hospitalization or have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospitalization. This is a 5-day per week position.

The Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinician II role is responsible for evaluating, assessing, and providing treatment for persons who present with substance use-related issues, with or without co-occurring mental health problems. Duties include providing evaluation and treatment recommendations; referring to appropriate services; and providing education and counseling to clients, family members, and affected others.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Addictions Treatment, or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Conditional Licensure in Social Work or Counseling (LMSW-cc, LCPC-c) required.
  3. Experience: One year of previous experience in counseling adolescents and adults dealing with substance use-related and mental health issues required. Two years of prior sobriety if in recovery at time of hire. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of an OPBH Clinician I role.
