Medical Surgical Telemetry (MS3)
Med Surg 3 (MS3) is a fast-paced 56 bed Adult Medical Surgical Telemetry unit in Biddeford, Maine. The healthcare team provides care to adult complex patient populations from a wide variety of medical-surgical services including, but not limited to, Pulmonary, Renal, Infectious Disease, GI, Cardiac, Hematology/Oncology, and Orthopedics.
Medical-Surgical nursing is the largest nursing specialty where nurses perform an age specific plan of care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
MS3 is a department where staff can develop and utilize advanced organizational, prioritization, communication, and leadership skills while working closely with other healthcare professionals in a team oriented work environment.
The department is on a self-scheduling model, with normal shifts 12 hours in duration, with the option for every other, or every third weekend rotations.
NURSE RESIDENCY PROGRAM (NRP):
§New graduate RNs (less than 1 year of experience from date of licensure) accepting a position with MaineHealth you are automatically enrolled in our yearlong nurse residency program.
§The NRP provides guidance and support to new nurses starting their careers.
§Meet monthly to help with the transition of becoming a professional RN for training, continued learning, group exercises and more.
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse - New Graduate - Acute Care role is working progressively towards competency and independence in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The New Graduate Program is intended to support the new graduate nurse in making the transition from student to competent clinical practitioner.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
1.Education: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
2.License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: N/A
