For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience!

o Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

o Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Position Summary (This position will consist of 32 hours per week.)

The Oncology – Infusion Therapy Registered Nurse exercises independent judgment when providing comprehensive nursing care including the administration of chemotherapy to oncology outpatients and infusion/transfusion therapy for outpatients. The RN is accountable and responsible for clinical decision making and coordination of a patient’s care during an assigned shift or throughout the length of stay on a unit. The RN exercises independent judgment to assess patient needs, to develop the plan of nursing actions in collaboration with the health care team, to implement the plan and to evaluate the effects and outcome of the care provided. The RN will provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Maine State Board of Nursing. As part of the care team, the RN will coordinate, assign and oversee patient care duties delegated to registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nurse aides (CNAs). The RN utilizes excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in collaborating with Medical and Nursing Staff, Support and Ancillary Services, Administration, Community Providers, patients, families and care givers.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. 

2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification required within 3 months of start date. Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN) preferred, or must obtain within 3 years of start date. 

3. Experience: Three years of relevant acute clinical experience required with one year oncology experience preferred. 

4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: May be needed to work at both Waldo and Pen Bay Cancer Care departments.
