We are seeking experienced nurses to join our Central Staffing Float Pool at Pen Bay Medical Center!

The Central Staffing Float Pool offers a unique opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses to expand their knowledge base and sharpen their skill set. Nurses are given the opportunity to train on an array of units at Pen Bay Medical Center. The assortment of floors and units assigned to will provide an opportunity to practice in various clinical areas throughout the hospital. A nurse working in the Central Staffing Float Pool must possess the ability to think quickly on their feet, with remarkable adaptability and critical thinking expertise. Having the ability to transition between departments including but not limited to medical-surgical, critical care, inpatient behavioral health and emergency is a must when working in Central Staffing.

Summary:  (This is a per diem position for the day shift.)

The Registered Nurse - Central Staffing/Float Pool role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care. This role will float and work within a variety of hospital inpatient settings and the Emergency Department.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. 

2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. 

3. Experience: Three years of acute care experience with one year of critical care experience required. 

4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women required. 

5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
