This role focuses on analyzing healthcare data to uncover actionable insights that support both patient care and organizational success. Working with clinical data warehouses and payer data, the Senior Analyst will help shape decision-making that optimizes health outcomes and strengthens relationships between patients and care teams.

The ideal candidate is an innovative thinker with expertise in healthcare data analysis and statistical modeling, complemented by exceptional communication skills to translate complex insights into clear recommendations for diverse stakeholders.

Summary:
The Senior Healthcare Data Analyst focuses on analyzing healthcare data to uncover actionable insights that support both patient care and organizational success. Working with clinical data warehouses and payer data, the Senior Analyst will help shape decision-making that optimizes health outcomes and strengthens relationships between patients and care teams.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
1. Education: Master’s degree in healthcare informatics, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of progressive healthcare analytics experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex analyses of healthcare claims and clinical data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Develop and maintain cost of care modeling and tracking systems, with a focus on Total Cost of Care (TCOC).
  • Create population health analytics models, including risk stratification and care gap closure.
  • Design and implement frameworks for clinical quality metrics and provider performance analytics.
  • Analyze patient engagement and satisfaction metrics, including Net Promoter Scores (NPS).
  • Generate actionable recommendations for Trellis Health leadership based on analytical findings. 
  • Monitor and analyze value-based care contract performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and care optimization strategies through data analysis. 
  • Partner with Aetna and other stakeholders to evaluate claims data and identify trends. 
  • Work closely with Trellis Health’s executive team to understand strategic priorities and deliver insights that support key decisions. 
  • Translate complex analytical findings into compelling narratives and visualizations tailored for non-technical audiences. 
  • Develop executive-level dashboards and reports to monitor performance and inform strategy. 
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with MaineHealth’s Epic and Data Management teams to ensure accurate and reliable data sources. 
  • Assist with validation of claims and clinical data, maintaining rigorous quality assurance processes. 
  • Leverage integrated data systems, including Epic Caboodle and Clarity, to support analytics and insights. 
  • Lead cross-functional analytics projects to support Trellis Health’s mission. 
  • Mentor junior analysts and team members in advanced healthcare analytics methodologies. 
  • Provide technical guidance on analytical approaches, tools, and best practices. 
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
