Triage Technicians (Technician Level I) at MaineHealth work within a call center performing core functions routing patients to the correct teams within the outpatient pharmacy.

- Growth Opportunities: Technician career track for promotion from Technician I to Technician IV. Reimbursement for pharmacy technician national certification (PTCB) as well as opportunities for other education and professional certifications. Engage in continuous learning within the job role (patient workload for technicians level II-IV split into teams that provide care for disease states ranging from cystic fibrosis, cardiology, oncology, transplant, virology- HIV, Hep B/C, rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology and to neurology). 

Key Responsibilities: 

- Patient Care: Deliver exceptional care by providing a full suite of custom medication management services. Engage with patients over the phone and virtually, to support their medication needs. 

- Clinic Integration: Collaborate effectively with clinic teams, including doctors, nurses, and other staff, to ensure seamless integration and coordination of care. 

- Education & Support: Educate patients about our pharmacy services and how they enhance their overall care. Encourage utilization of specialty pharmacy services. 

- Medication Management: Monitor medication adherence, perform outbound therapy/medication adherence check-ups, and manage refill prescriptions. Address and resolve insurance-related issues, including prior authorizations and financial assistance. 

- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate documentation, manage data using database applications, and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. 

- Communication: Provide timely and effective communication with the clinical care team members and fulfillment staff and handle inbound inquiries professionally. 

- Process Development: Contribute to the development of new processes to improve patient care and operational workflows, under the oversight of the Workflow Committee 

- Confidentiality: Ensure patient information is kept confidential and protected. 

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Associates Degree preferred. 

 2. License/Certifications: Current or eligible for applicable state(s) license as a Pharmacy Technician required. CPhT or PTCB certificate preferred. 

 3. Experience: Pharmacy technician or other healthcare related position preferred.
