Medical Surgical Telemetry (MS3)
Med Surg 3 (MS3) is a fast-paced 56 bed Adult Medical Surgical Telemetry unit in Biddeford, Maine. The healthcare team provides care to adult complex patient populations from a wide variety of medical-surgical services including, but not limited to, Pulmonary, Renal, Infectious Disease, GI, Cardiac, Hematology/Oncology, and Orthopedics.
· Medical-Surgical nursing is the largest nursing specialty where nurses perform an age specific plan of care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
· Medical-Surgical nurses develop a broad knowledge base and are experts in their practice.
· MS3 is a department where staff can develop and utilize advanced organizational, prioritization, communication, and leadership skills while working closely with other healthcare professionals in a team oriented work environment.
We are seeking hard working and compassionate Registered Nurses who are interested in functioning as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide our patients with a safe and supportive care environment.
The department is on a self-scheduling model, with normal shifts 12 hours in duration, with the option for every other, or every third weekend rotations.
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse II - Acute Care – MMC BID SAN role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice/caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. Positions that are fully remote will not require BLS.
3. Experience: One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse –Acute Care role.
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting LaboringWomen required.
