Conveniently located in South Portland and easily accessible from both the I-95 and I-295, this MaineHealth Cancer Care Medical-Oncology practice provides innovative and state-of-the-art cancer care to patients throughout the Greater Portland region.
Duties for this position are supporting the day-to-day operations such as care coordination, phone triage and clinical support to the oncologists and hematologists.
The ideal candidate for this position is interested in being part of a collaborative and dynamic team of professionals dedicated to providing highly specialized care in a busy (and growing!) practice. Compassion, empathy and positivity are required; previous oncology experience is preferred. This position is Monday-Friday, day shift, no weekends, on call or major holidays. After successful completion of training this position has opportunity to become hybrid schedule.
Summary:
The Registered Nurse role uses professional nursing processes to assess the needs of patients and families calling or presenting for care in the physician office and performs a wide variety of patient care services to assist physicians/advanced practice practitioners in delivering excellent care to patients of the practice.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: One year of RN experience required. Two years of relevant experience preferred. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse I - Ambulatory Care role.
