To safely administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients in the Cancer Care Center. Displays clinical proficiency, which includes the management and safe delivery of age-specific patient centered care (encompassing young adult to geriatric clients) through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of overt and covert changes in clinical conditions of oncology patients in accordance with prescribed standards. Provides care and instruction to patients and families from a basis of specialized knowledge in oncology nursing. Plans and assigns work to unit support staff and professional nursing, as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Current in the State of Maine as a Registered Professional Nurse. Two years nursing experience with one year of Chemotherapy/Oncology nursing preferred. Current BCLS Certification; ACLS Certification preferred. Completion of a concepts in chemotherapy course within one year of hire and departmental competencies within one month of hire. Oncology Nursing Certification within three years of hire.
